Bright red fruit with a creamy flesh. Named when a nurseryman in 1894 exclaimed "My, that's delicious!" Sweet and juicy, especially when picked ripe from the tree. Best for snacking, poor for baking. Can also be used for apple butter.

Red Delicious normally becomes ripe in late September.
