Book topics here include:

Apples

by Robert Yepsen

This is a great little book for exploring the world of rare apples. Sized about like an apple, this 6"x5" book belongs on the coffeetable of any apple affectionado. The first part of the book covers apple history, apple eating, and apple cider. The main section is the best: 90 apples are described and pictured in vivid watercolor. You'll be surprised how many apples you've never heard of - names like Esopus Spitzenburg, Blue Permain, and Zabergau Reinette are covered in their full glory.

Ten Apples Up on Top!

by Seuss, Theo Lesieg, Roy McKie (Illustrator)

Yes, Dr. Seuss has graced the world of apples. This is a superb book for reading and counting to ten, using a vocabulary of only 75 words.

Apples and Pumpkins

by Anne F. Rockwell, Lizzy Rockwell (Illustrator)

This is a book about a trip to a farm to pick apples and pumpkins. Sound familiar? Read this book to your preschooler, and then you can experience it here at our orchard.

The Fascinating World of Bees

by Angels Julivert, Carlos De Miguel (Illustrator), Jose Maria Parramon

This bee book is best for kids ages 9-12.

Out and About at the Apple Orchard

by Diane Mayr, Anne McMullen (Illustrator), Sam Nassar

A good friend recommended this book. She says: "This is one of the best books I've seen for young readers that best fits the orchard. It even mentions the bees, limiting the use of chemicals, picking them by hand, and has an illustration of the apples being separated on a conveyer belt, it mentions cold storage, and has a big red barn for the store! I would swear that this writer or illustrator has been to CLO and used it as a springboard for creating the book!"

The Honeybee

by Paula Z. Hogan, Geri K. Strigenz (Illustrator)

This is a bee book for kids ages 4-8.
