County Line Orchard

The Welcome Shed

This is the information center for the orchard. On the weekends, this is the place to go to find out what's picking and to get a picking bag. You can get tickets to the Kid's Farm and the MAiZE, either here or at the MAiZE and Kid's Farm. During school tours this is the place to go when you first arrive at the orchard. The school tour coordinator will be here and will get you organized.

A ticket for the Kid's Farm also includes a ride out in the orchard on our wagons plus bags to hold the apples you pick.

Would you believe that these two photos are of the same building? In 1996 we learned that a farm about a mile away was going to be completely torn down to make room for a shopping center. We saw all the old buildings on that farm and decided to purchase them. The check-in building was one of these five buildings, and it was in the worst condition. It was so bad, in fact, that the building mover said that it was the most run down building he'd ever moved - and he'd been in the business for over forty years!

Undaunted, we set to work. The roof was replaced, walls reinforced, and the outside walls given good siding. A counter was added to the inside, and we gave it some nice windows. The result is what you see today - a good looking little farm building.
